Decommissioning/removal

Locally applicable accident prevention and trade association safety provisions.
ƒ
Observe all regulations for working with and underneath heavy suspended loads.
ƒ
Make available the required protective equipment and ensure that the personnel wear
the protective equipment.
ƒ
Ensure sufficient aeration in closed rooms.
ƒ
If toxic or suffocating gases build up, immediately initiate countermeasures!
The mixer is deactivated during decommissioning, but remains installed. This ensures that
the mixer is always ready for operation.
To protect the mixer from frost, ice, and direct sunlight, immerse the mixer completely
in the fluid.
Minimum fluid temperature: +3 °C (+37 °F).
1. Switch off the mixer at the operating point.
2. Secure the operating point against being switched on again by unauthorized persons
(e.g. lock main switch).
▶ The pump has been decommissioned and can be dismantled.
If the mixer remains installed after decommissioning, observe the following:
ƒ
Ensure that the aforementioned requirements are maintained for the complete period of
decommissioning. If these prerequisites cannot be guaranteed, dismantle the mixer!
ƒ
For an extended period of decommissioning, carry out a function test at regular intervals:
Period: monthly to quarterly
Running time: 5 minutes
Run a function test in valid operating conditions only! CAUTION! A dry run is not al-
lowed! Non-compliance may result in irreparable damage!
DANGER
Danger during removal due to fluids which are hazardous to health!
Contact with fluids that are hazardous to health is possible during removal. Observe the
following points:
• Wear protective equipment:
⇒ Closed safety goggles
⇒ Mouth protection
⇒ Protective gloves
• Wipe up drips immediately.
• Observe information from the work regulations! The operator must ensure that the
personnel have received and read the work regulations!
DANGER
Danger due to fluids which are hazardous to health!
Decontaminate the mixer after removal and before all work. There is a risk of fatal injury.
Observe the specifications in the work regulations. The operator must ensure that the
personnel have received and read the work regulations.
DANGER
Electrocution hazard!
Improper conduct when carrying out electrical work causes death due to electric shock!
Electrical work must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with local reg-
ulations.
