AUTOFOCUS
AF Control System: TTL-SIR (Secondary
lmage Registration) phase detection type
using BASIS (Base-Stored lmage Sensor).
Two modes available: One-shot and Al
servo with Focus Prediction (cannot be set
with the main switch set at "RT"). Manual
focusing also possible.
AF Working Range: EV 1 - 18 at ISO 100.
AF Auxiliary Light: Specified Speedlites au-
tomatically project light through an ultra-
bright LED (peak sensitivity: 700 nm).
EXPOSURE CONTROL
Light Metering: TTL full aperture metering
using SPC (Silicon Photocell). Three
metering patterns available: 6-zone evalu-
ative metering, partial metering (approx.
6.5 o/o of the picture area, and center-
weighted average metering (with Custom
Function +8).
Metering Range: EV - 0.5 - 20 in normal
temperature (conversion with 50 mmf 11.4
at ISO 100)
Shooting Modes:
1 . Intelligent Program AE with Variable Pro-
gram Shift Function
2. Depth-of-Field AE
3. Shutter-Priority AE
4. Aperture-Priority AE
5. Manual
6. Flash AE (A-TTL program flash AE with
specified Canon Speedlites)
Camera Shake Warning: Operates when
the main switch is set at (r.D for Program
AE, ,Aperture-priority AE, and Depth-of-
field AE modes. When automatically set
shutter speed falls 0 to 0.5 steps below
1/focal length of the lens in use, the elec-
tronic beeper sounds. Beeper can also be
canceled by setting the main switch at "A"
or "RT", or with Custom Function +6.
Multiple Exposures: Up to nine exposures
can be preset. Automatically clears upon
completion.
