13.4. Replacing safety contactors

Risk of severe personal injury, property damage and even death:
The built-in electrical safety contactors should be replaced annually by a qualified electrician.
13.5. Adjusting the insulating cord
It is recommended, if necessary, to expand the insulating cord (sealing cord) in the kiln door by squeezing it in volume.

As a result, an optimal seal between the kiln door and the casing can be restored.

Switch off the kiln and let it cool down.

Open the kiln door.

Use a clean, flat piece of wood.
Carefully press the piece of wood from the outer edge against the
insulating cord.

Repeat the process all around the kiln door to adjust the insulating
5
cord evenly.
Close and lock the kiln door to check that the insulating cord is
6
evenly positioned all around.
If necessary, repeat the process if the insulating cord does not
7
seal properly.
