2.5.3 | Mechanical hazards

▪ Do not use steam or high-pressure clean-
ers for basic cleaning.
▪ Only install the appliance in well-ventilated
rooms.
▪ Do not install the appliance in cellars or
lowered rooms.
▪ Ducts and wall bushings must be sealed
under and behind the unit to protect
against fire.
▪ Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
▪ Do not expose the appliance to temperat-
ures higher than 70°C (158°F) during trans-
port and storage.
▪ Avoid transmitting pulsations and vibrations
to the device.
▪ Avoid external force on the device such as
careless action with a lift truck or floor
cleaning machine.
▪ The operator must not drill into the appli-
ance or carry out any other work on it.
▪ Do not squeeze or bend pipes.
▪ Only qualified staff may carry out work on
the refrigerant circuit.
▪ Only open the refrigerant circuit and suck
off the refrigerant in well-ventilated rooms
outside store business hours (when cus-
tomers are not present) or outdoors.
▪ Before any maintenance, service or repair
work, disconnect the device (see →Shut-
down). Secure the device against being
switched on again.
▪ During the repair a qualified person, who
knows the local conditions, must be avail-
able as contact person for the qualified
staff.
CAUTION
Liquid refrigerant.
Frostbite on the skin.
▪ Wear safety glasses and gloves.
▪ Protect hands and face from contact with li-
quid/leaking refrigerant.
2.5.3 Mechanical hazards
WARNING
Transport of the appliances with indus-
trial trucks.
Risk of injury to persons in the event of a colli-
sion.
▪ Observe transport routes for industrial
trucks.
▪ Secure transported goods.
▪ Only trained personnel may operate indus-
trial trucks.

▪ Transport one appliance at a time with the
industrial truck.
Appliance tipping hazard.
Persons may become trapped.
▪ Do not climb onto or into the unit.
▪ Read the instructions on the packaging.
▪ In the event of questions, contact the main-
tenance service (see →Maintenance ser-
vices).
Missing and/or not fully functional
safety devices.
Risk of injury, e.g. from rotating parts.
▪ Check to ensure safety devices are com-
plete and working.
▪ Do not remove protective devices and cov-
ers attached to the appliance.
CAUTION
Material breakage.
Risk of falling. Risk of impact due to the pos-
sibility of products falling. Cutting injuries.
▪ Do not climb onto or into the unit.
Falling objects.
Impact injuries. Cuts in the event of glass
breakage.
▪ Do not set down any objects on the appli-
ance.
Improper installation of the display
shelves.
Risk of injury due to falling of the display
shelves holding goods.
▪ The bracket for the display shelves and the
display shelves must fully engage in the
slots provided during suspension.
Leakage of defrost water. Leakage of
liquids from damaged packaging.
Slipping hazard
▪ Check for puddles in front of and under the
appliance.
▪ Promptly remove leaking defrost water/li-
quids.
Safety when handling glass
CAUTION
Glass breakage.
Body cuts. Impact injuries.
▪ Do not install appliances with laminated in-
sulating glass at altitudes above 2000 m
(6562 ft). Laminated insulating glass may
break due to air pressure difference.
▪ Check glass elements for damage, e.g.
cracks, breaks. In the event of damage,
promptly contact the maintenance service
(see →Maintenance services).
▪ Check for breakage of stored glass con-
tainers.
▪ Check that glass doors are closed.
