1233 Pipe and Bolt Threading Machine
Adjusting Thread Length on Nos. 924,
926 and 928 Die Heads
1. If shorter thread form is desired, loosen hex bolt on die
head trigger foot (Figure 11) and slide trigger foot to-
ward machine. Re-tighten hex bolt. (FOOT-IN)
2. If longer thread form is desired, loosen hex bolt on
die head trigger foot (Figure 11) and slide trigger foot
away from machine. Re-tighten hex bolt. (FOOT-
OUT)

1. Chuck pipe.
2. Cut and ream pipe.
3. Install proper size dies into die head. Separate die
sets are required for (

pipe. Individual sets of dies are required for each bolt
size.
4. Size die head to proper size.
5. Turn ON/OFF switch to ON position, place cutter
and reamer in their UP position, and step on foot
switch.
NOTE! Cutting oil will flow to carriage and dump into chip
pan. Certain machines do not include foot switch!
6. Lower die head and oil will flow through head and
onto dies.
7. Feed die head towards pipe with carriage hand-
wheel. Apply slight pressure to handwheel until 3 - 4
threads have been cut.
8. Release handwheel.

when proper length of thread has been cut. For

9. With die head trigger placed up and out of the way,
thread length can be controlled by manually re-
leasing throw-out lever. This is necessary for mak-
ing long BSPP and NPSM threads.
10. Check the thread length and depth. (Figure 13)

NOTE! 1. Parallel threads cannot be cut with tapered dies.
2. Slight die head depth adjustment may be nec-
essary due to fitting variation.
3. Receding dies are not full-width dies.
