CAUTION!
Each of these reactions may cause loss of control on the pruner and the danger of serious injuries.
The knowledge and prevention of any kickback eliminates the "surprise factor", therefore reducing potential accidents.
For an adequate control of the tool:
-
always be on your guard and never get distracted while cutting,
-
firmly grip the tool with both hands and guide the chain bar in a straight trajectory,
-
always remain to the side of the tool, never behind it,
-
stand with your feet firmly on the ground and keep your body properly balanced,
-
check that the cutting area is clear of obstacles,
-
use the tool with the chain always properly sharpened and lubricated.
5.2
Improper uses
•
Do not use the tool when you are in unstable position or off balance.
•
Do not cut materials other than wood.
•
Never use the tool as a lever or for lifting, moving or breaking any objects.
•
Never use the tool if the atmosphere is explosive or flammable.
•
Do not cut trunks wider than the maximum length of the bar (2).
5.3
Transporting the tool
Transport the tool with the bar (2) facing backwards and the bar cover (20) in-
serted. Grip the tool on the pole in a balanced way and put on the carrying
strap after having attached it to the pole.
For transportation on vehicles: prevent overturning and damage by securing the
tool stably.
These behaviours prevent accidental damage to objects and/or persons and/or
damage to the product during transport.
5.4
Storing
When the tool remains inactive for long periods of time, follow the maintenance and cleaning instructions shown in the
manual:
•
Empty the oil tank (18) and close the cap (19).
•
Thoroughly clean the tool by removing cutting residue (sawdust).
•
Insert the bar cover (20) on the cutting bar.
•
Recharge the batteries before storing them.
•
Store the tool and keep it in a dry place.
If the tool is not used for long periods, recharge the batteries every 3 months at the latest.
