3.1 Explanation of symbols

WARNING!
... indicates a potentially dangerous situation that can result in serious injury
or death, if not avoided.
CAUTION!
... indicates a potentially dangerous situation that can result in light
injuries, if not avoided.
ATTENTION!
... indicates a potentially dangerous situation that can result in damage to
property or the environment, if not avoided.
DANGER!
... identifies hazards caused by electrical power. Should the safety
instructions not be observed, there is a risk of serious or fatal injury.
WARNING!
... indicates a potentially dangerous situation that can result in burns,
caused by hot surfaces or liquids, if not avoided.
Information
... points out useful tips, recommendations and information for efficient
and trouble-free operation.

3.2 General safety instructions

Before using the instrument, make sure that all connections (between model ACS-10

and gas cylinder, between model ACS-10 and test item and between model ACS-10
and gas compartment) are sufficiently leak-tight.
Ensure that the recalibration of the test items is always carried out with the gas
■
designed for this purpose (usually SF
Throughout the operation of the instrument, power must be supplied at the correct
■
mains voltage and the specified environmental conditions must be maintained (in
particular, no operation in the rain).
Before testing a leakage detection system with model ACS-10, the gas quality of
■
the gas compartment must be determined (e.g. with the analytic instrument model
GA11 from WIKA). This is the only way to ensure that large quantities of SF₆ gas
decomposition products are not absorbed into the model ACS-10.
The maximum connection pressure at CON2 must not exceed 10 bar abs. when
■
filling (e.g. with external gas cylinder). Corresponding pressure reducers can be
purchased optionally from WIKA.
