WORKSHEET
VTI calculation added to volume flow measurement
Velocity time integral (VTI) has been added to the result of the Volume Flow measurement for
Abdomen exam types. When
is measured, the result includes velocity time integral and time averaged velocity calculations
depending upon the trace type. When the waveform is manually traced, TAV and VTI are displayed.
When the waveform is automatically traced using Peak, Time Averaged Peak (TAP) and VTI are
displayed. When the waveform is automatically traced using Mean, Time Averaged Mean (TAM) is
displayed and VTI is not displayed.

Arterial calculations
Second volume flow measurement added to the Arterial Exam
In arterial exams, you can now perform two volume flow measurements as part of the same exam.
The results of both measurements appear on the clinical monitor and can be saved to the report.

Volume Flow
Trace only a single heartbeat. The VTI calculation is not valid if measured with more
than one heartbeat.
Diagnostic conclusions about blood flow based on VTI alone can lead to improper
treatment. Accurate blood flow volume calculations require both the vessel area and
velocity of blood flow. In addition, accurate blood flow velocity is dependent on a
correct Doppler angle of incidence.
