Only when the engine is cold: activate the choke, i.e. set the manual
•
suction lever to the closed position ("CHOKE" or "CLOSE" depending on
the type of engine) - see the universal icon.
Set the throttle lever - engine speed control - to approx. 1/2 scale in the
•
direction of fast rotation.
NOTE: the rabbit icon symbolizes fast rotation and the turtle is for slow
speeds, so by moving the lever towards the appropriate icon, you increase
or decrease the engine speed.
•
Turn the ignition switch on the engine to the "ON" position so that the
engine can be started.
Grasp the lever of the starter tug and pull in a steady motion until you feel
•
resistance on the lever, then with a quick movement pull to the end, all
the while holding the handle in your hand allowing it to return to the
starting position in a controlled manner. Sometimes in freezing
conditions, it may be necessary to pull the tug handle several times before
the engine starts - this is normal.
ATTENTION: old or low-quality fuel can lead to starting problems!
After starting the engine, let it work for a bit in order to reach the
•
operating temperature after approx. 1 minute and during this time
gradually move the manual suction lever in the direction of off ("OFF" or
"RUN" - depending on the type of engine).
