CONNECTING THE DUCTED AIR
On certain configured products, the outgoing hot air can be ducted
for distributing it in different points of the same room or in adjoining
rooms.
a
It is mandatory to connect at least ONE DUCT for
EACH FAN configured, so that the heat generated
can be dissipated in the room and the appliance can
work properly.
The hot air ducting pipe MUST NOT come into con-
tact with the flue gas outlet and with other hot or
moving parts, not even inside the appliance.
l
The insulation, the ducting path and the position of
the air vents all influence the optimal heating con-
ditions inside the room. We recommend relying on
qualified personnel.

Indications for ducting the hot air
Below we provide some indications on how to duct the hot air.
To create some of the proposed solutions, it might be necessary to
have, besides the flexible pipe of adequate diameter, also air vents
and Y-shaped elements and/or fittings, which must be purchased sep-
arately as they are not supplied with the appliance.
l
For effective distribution of the ducted heat, it is mandatory:
- to cover the pipe with a 2 cm-thick insulating sheath (e.g. mineral
fibre, ceramic fibre, rock fibre, etc.) so as to limit dispersions and
guarantee a sufficiently high air temperature
- that the insulating sheath has a specific weight equal to or above
50 kg/m³ with a threshold operating temperature of at least 250°C
and a thermal conductivity λ (100°C) ≤ 0.050 W/mK. For the heat
insulation it is possible to use Class A1 non-combustible material
as per the EN 13501-1 standard.
a
Distribution zone of the hot air vent
It is necessary to maintain a zone around the hot air vent where it is
forbidden to keep combustible or heat-sensitive material (e.g. wood-
en furniture, tapestries, rugs, fabrics, clothing, ornaments, flammable
liquids, etc.).
Cn1a
This zone is delimited by measuring 600 mm from the outer edge of
the vent.
a
Fig. 15
The total maximum length of the hot air duct de-
pends on the size and degree of insulation of the
environment to be heated and the ducting method
adopted.
The flexible pipe (if used) can be bent and slightly
deformed, but must not be crushed or obstructed,as
this could adversely affect the hot air flow and the
appliance's safety.
If the insulating material is not inside the floor or
walls, it must be fastened to the surface with anchor-
ing points every 30 cm.
If the floor is combustible or heat-sensitive, the hot
air vents must be located at a distance of at least
200 mm from the floor.
