Admin Features
Crypto-Erase password
The IronKey D500S is equipped with a unique Crypto-Erase password feature that is designed to protect and
defend against physically compromising situations by securely erasing the contents of your drive when used,
leaving it to appear as if it never had any data written to the drive. When this feature is enabled, and the drive
is unlocked with the Crypto-Erase password, it will effectively perform a discreet crypto-erase on the D500S
drive and will open the drive in factory state mode with an empty User partition. The previous encryption key
will be deleted, and a new device encryption key will be created to take its place.
