CEBORA S.p.A.
3.3.5 - Pushbutton pressed, pilot arc does not ignite
Gas flows from the torch.
♦ Check the gas pressure in the torch plasma chamber is not excessive. Check
pressure reading on LCD and if necessary adjust pressure regulator (D) to
operate in accordance with technical specifications (see Instruction Manual).
♦ Check the torch electrode and nozzle; replace if worn or damaged.
♦ Check the torch cable, centralised attachment and grip; replace if worn or
damaged.
♦ Check the connections between torch and power source board, more
specifically between terminals 5 and 6 of the fixed torch fitting and FASTON
connector F1 on secondary winding board (32) (nozzle potential).
♦ Check connections L1 and L2 on secondary winding board (32) are undamaged.
If damaged, replace secondary winding board (32).
♦ Check the continuity between connection L1 on secondary winding board (32)
and pins 5 and 6 of torch centralised attachment.
♦ Check the output diodes in ISOTOP container (35) are intact. See section x.x.
Replace if damaged.
♦ Check IGBT modules (30) and their connections to control board (48) are intact.
Replace if damaged
♦ Replace control board (48) and secondary winding board (32)
♦ Replace display board (57).
In case of failure of an IGBT module (30) or a driver circuit on the power board (48),
both IGBT modules (30) and control board (48) should be replaced at the same time. A
faulty IGBT module very often damages the driver section to which it is connected and
the other inverter bridge module. Similarly, a faulty driver circuit will most likely damage
the IGBT to which it is connected.
