7 TESTING AN DIODE ISOTOP MODULE
7.1 Check for shorted diode
Using a digital multimeter set in diode mode measurement:
1. Measure between K2 (- black meter lead) and A2 (+ red meter lead);
2. Measure between K1 (- black meter lead) and A1(+ red meter lead);
If you measure a short (0 V) in step 1. or 2 or both, the diode module is not usable.
7.2 Check for good diode
1. Measure between K2 (- black meter lead) and A2 (+ red meter lead);
2. Measure between K1 (- black meter lead) and A1(+ red meter lead);
3. Measure between K2 (+ red meter lead) and A2 (- black meter lead);
4. Measure between K1 (+ red meter lead) and A1(- black meter lead);
If you measure a value about 0.3 V in step both steps 1, 2 and measure open circuit
(OL) in steps 3, 4 the diode module is good.
