• The place for label on the tow bar (see arrow) must be clean and degreased using a suitable
agent. Let flash off fot 10 minutes.
• Stick the G1 label from the supplied sheet. The label is captioned „Identification label - stick
on Towing hitch".

Two people are required to carry out this step
• Insert the tow bar (A), along with the side members, into the openings in the vehicle cover
panel and position them such that the bolt axes are located more or less in the middle of the
attachment openings in the side members.
• Lightly attach the supports to the undercarriage of the vehicle using the four attachment
bolts (B) and then pull them symmetrically backwards.
• Check that the tow bar is positioned correctly, and tighten the bolts to 55 Nm +180° (see
detail) in the following order (position of the bolts relative to the direction of travel):
• 1. Rear right,
• 2. Front right,
• 3. Rear left,
• 4. Front left.
Please note: New fastening bolts need to be used if the tow bar is removed again
and refitted.

• Remove the seal cap from the hole in the vehicle floor to enable you to pull through the tow
bar's wiring harness on the left-hand side (when viewed in the direction of travel)
(see detail).
• Pull the wiring harness with connectors for the tow bar's electrical installation through the
hole and into the luggage compartment.
Please note: Push the grommet (included with the tow bar's electrical installation)
into the hole in the vehicle floor to prevent water from leaking in.
• Fit the clip on the wiring harness onto the lower pin in the vehicle's cover panel (see arrow).

How to connect and secure the control unit (C):
• Plug the connector (with fuse) for the tow bar's wiring harness (A) and the ŠKODA connec-
tors into the control unit (C).
• Push the control unit onto the pins on the vehicle floor as shown in the figure, and use the
plastic nuts (D) to screw this in. Tighten the nuts to 1.5 Nm (see detail).
• Connect the remaining connector on the tow bar's wiring harness to the connector for the
vehicle's existing wiring harness (see arrow).

• Pull the connector on the vehicle's existing electrical installation (on the right-hand side
(when viewed in the direction of travel) of the luggage compartment) through the opening
in the support (see arrow) and connect it to the connector on the switch in the luggage
compartment side panelling (see detail).
