To adjust the recording level
The peak level meters hold the peak level of the
input audio signal for a while. By observing the
peak level, adjust the REC LEVEL controls so that
the OVER indicator on the peak level meters does
not light at the highest level. If the OVER indicator
lights steadily, the distorted sound is recorded.
Normally adjust the recording level so that the
peak level is between —6dB and 0 dB.
Offset calibration function
The offset calibration function cancels the offset
voltage of the A/D converter which affects the
recording.
The offset calibration function is
automatically activated when a recording starts or
the analog input is selected. When itis activated,
the peak level meters indicate—40 dB momentarily.
This is not a failure of the unit.
When the unit is connected to the AIWA NSX-
D5, NSX-D7 or NSX-D9 stereo system
Set the INPUT SELECT button according to the
source to be recorded and the function button
pressed on the amplifier of the system.

Para ajustar el nivel de grabacién
Los medidores de nivel de pico mantendran el
nivel de pico de la audiosefial de entrada durante
cierto tiempo. Observando el nivel de pico, ajuste
los controles REC LEVEL de forma que elindicador
OVER de los medidores de nivel de pico no se
encienda con el nivel mas alto.
Si el indicador
OVER permanece encendido, se grabara sonido
distorsionado.
Normalmente ajuste el nivel de
grabacién de forma que el nivel de pico esté entre
-6 y OaB.
Funcion de calibracion de desnivel
La funcién de calibracién de desnivel cancela la
tensidn de desnivel del convertidor A/D que afecta
lagrabacion. La funcidn de calibracién de desnivel
se activara automaticamente
cuando se inicie
una grabacidn o cuando se seleccione la entrada
analégica. Cuando se active, los medidores de
nivel de pico indicaran
momentaneamente
46 dB. Esto no significa mal funcionamiento de
ta unidad.
Cuando haya conectado Ia unidad al sistema
estéreo NSX-D5, NSX-D7, o NSX-D9 AIWA
Ajuste el bot6n INPUT SELECT de acuerdoconia
fuente que desee grabar y el botén de funcidn
presionado del amplificador dce! sistema.
