Follow the advice below for safe and appropriate
operation.
On placement
*
Donotuse the unitin places which are extremely
hot, cold, dusty or humid.
+ Place the unit on a flat smooth surface.
*
Do not restrict the air flow of the unit, by placing
it in a spot with bad air flow, by covering it with
a cloth or placing it on carpet.
On AC voitage
Before use, check that the rated voltage of your
unit matches your local voltage.

On safety
yen connecting and disconnecting the AC
vurd, grip the plug and not the cord.
Pulling the cord may damage
it and create
hazards.
* Whenyouare not going to use the unit foralong
period of time, disconnect the AC cord. If the
cord is plugged in, a small amount of current
keeps on flowing to the unit even if the power
switch is not ON.
* If the AC cord is broken or damaged, or if the
wires are exposed, contact your dealer or an
AIWA service station and have it replaced or
repaired immediatly.
On volume setting
Before starting playback, turn down the volume. If
the initial noise level is used as a guide to adjust
the volume like a conventional magnetic tape, the
resulting playback volume can be extremely loud
and damage the speakers, since digital recording
eliminates distracting tape hiss noise.
In particular when listening with headphones, be
careful not to damage your ears with high volume
levels.

ondensation
\...4n left in a room made warm and damp bya
heater, water droplets may occur from inside; this
is called condensation.
If left as is, the tape may not only get entangled in
the internal mechanism and fail to work properly,
both the tape and the mechanism could be
damaged. So if there is any possibility of this
occurring, remove a tape from the unit when notin
use. And when this happens, leave the unit as is,
with the power supply on, for about 1 hour.
On cabinet cleaning
Clean the cabinet and the panels with a dry, soft
cloth. Donotuse thinner, benzine, alcohol, etc. as
they may damage the finish.
On head cleaning
ifthe head becomes dirty or dusty, the sound may
be intermittent or noise may occur.
Clean the
heads using a commercially available DAT head
cleaning tape.

Ubicacion
* No
emplee
la
unidad
en
lugares
extremadamente calidos, frios, polvorientos, ni
himedos.
Coloque la unidad sobre una superficie plana y
nivelada.
+ No impida el flujo de aire de la unidad
colocandola en un lugar mal ventilado,
cubriéndola con un pafio, ni colocandola sobre
una moqueta.
Tension de CA
Antes de emplear la unidad, compruebe si su
tension de alimentacién coincide con ta de la red
local.

Seguridad
+ Para conectar
y desconectar
el cable de
alimentacién de CA, sujete el enchufe, no el
propio cable. Sitirase del cable podria dafarlo
y crear peligros.
+ Cuando no vaya a emplear la unidad durante
mucho
tiempo, desconecte
el cable de
alimentacién.
Si lo deja enchufado, circulara
una pequefa cantidad de corriente a través de
la unidad,
incluso aunque
el cable de
alimentacion no esté en ON.
* Sielcable de alimentaci6n se corta o dafa, osi
los conductores quedan al descubierto, p6ngase
en contacto con su proveedor o con un centro
de reparaciones AIWA para que se lo reparen
o reemplacen inmediatamente.
Ajuste del volumen
Antes de iniciar la reproduccién, disminuya el
volumen. Si empiea el nivel inicial como guia para
ajustar el volumen como en una cinta magnética
convencional,
el volumen
de reproduccién
resultante puede ser extremadamente alto y dafiar
los altavoces, porque la grabacién digital elimina
el ruido molesto-de siseo de la cinta.
Condensacién de humedad
Si deja la unidad
en una
sala calentada
y 7
humidificada con un aparato de calefaccién, es
posible que se formen gotas de agua en suinterior
humedad
en su interior; esto se denomina
condensacién de humedad.
Si deja asi la unidad, la cinta puede no solo
enredarse en el mecanismo interno y fallar en en
funcionar adecuadamente,
sino que
puede
dafiarse tanto la cinta como el mecanismo. Porlo
tanto cuando exista la posibilidad de que ocurra
esto, extraiga el casete de la unidad cuando no
vaya a emplearla. Y en caso de haberse con-
densado humedad, deje:la unidad con la alimen-
tacién conectada durante aproximadamente
1
hora.
Limpieza de la caja
Limpie la caja y los paneles con un pafio suave y
seco.
No emplee diluidor de pintura, bencina,
alcohol, etc., ya que podria dafar el acabado.
Limpieza de las cabezas
Si las cabezas se ensucian, el puede resultar
intermetente, o es posible que se produzca ruido.
Limpie las cabezas empleando un casete limpiador
de cabezas de magnetéfonos de cinta audiodigital
adquirido en una tienda del ramo.
1 Inserte el casete limpiador.
2 Presione los botones @ y ® para hacer que
avance la cinta.
3 Espere unos 15 segundos y pare fa cinta.
Nota
Emplee un casete limpiador "DG-5CL"" de FUJI
PHOTO FILM. Las cabezas del magnetéfono de
cinta
audiodigital
no
podran
limpiarse
adecuadamente con otros casetes limpiadores.
Si se produce algun problema, desconecte
el
cable de alimentaci6n de CAy solicitar los servicios
de personal cualificado solamente.
