Functional description
Balancing of the individual pipelines is carried out by
adjusting the handwheel. The setting can be blocked using
the clip located inside the handwheel (see Illustr. 4 on
page 34).
The differential pressure is regulated by changing the
stroke of the valve plug and thus increasing or decreasing
the opening between the valve plug and the valve seat.
The differential pressure control valve can be completely
shut off (see 3.4 on page 35).

Refer to the charts in the appendix for the required set
values.
The setting is blockable and lead-sealable.
The differential pressure control valves are used in the
return pipe. The differential pressure control valve can be
used as partner valve for double regulating valves (e.g.
HydroControl V, HydroControl M) or shutoff valves (e.g.
HydroControl A) (for more information, see operating
instructions of the double regulating and shutoff valves).
For cooling systems with e.g. water-glycol mixtures, the
correction factors, related to the specifi ed chart values
must be taken into account.
3.3.1
Impulse tube
The impulse tube required for pressure pickup in the
supply pipe is included in the scope of delivery. The
impulse tube can be connected to a HydroControl V,
HydroControl M or HydroControl A partner valve without
tools. The connection is usually made at the blue
connection of the partner valve.
On the HydroControl D, the impulse tube is screwed into
the connection thread above the diaphragm housing and
tightened with an open-end spanner.

3.3.2 HydroPort auxiliary valve
Each HydroControl D is equipped with a HydroPort
auxiliary valve as standard.
With HydroPort, accessories can be connected easily and
securely by means of a snap lock. HydroPort valves are
opened by a short turn. A quarter turn is suffi cient for
pressure pickup.
An OV-DMC 3 measuring device can also be connected to
measure the fl ow rate. The measuring hoses of an OV-
DMC 3 measuring device can be connected directly to the
HydroPort.
