Commissioning
7.1
Filling, venting and checking for
leaks
1
Fill the heating system.
2
Vent the heating system.
3
Carry out a leak test according to DIN EN 1264.
7.2
Presetting
Avoid valve settings below the recommended
setting range.
NOTICE
Damage to the valve due to excessive differential
pressure!
Excessive differential pressure across the valve unit
can cause noise and damage to the valve.
!
Operate your differential pressure control valve
within the recommended setting range.
1
Determine the set value using the charts in the
appendix.
2
Turn the handwheel until the desired value is visible in
setting window 1 and 2 (see Illustr. 1 on page 33).
The digit in setting window 2 must be in the centre.
7.3
Securing the presetting
The set value can be secured against adjustment.
1
Pull the limiting clip out of the parking position under
the handwheel.
2
Slide the limiting clip into the blocking position (see
Illustr. 4 on page 34)
To prevent unauthorised persons from changing the
presetting, you can attach a seal.
1
Guide the sealing wire (accessory item no. 1089091)
through the hole in the limiting clip.
7.4
Measurement with OV-DMC 3
The blue measuring hose of an OV-DMC 3 differential
pressure measuring device can be connected to the
HydroPort valve of the HydroControl D by means of a snap
lock.
A partner valve with measuring function is required for the
measurement, i.e. a HydroControl V or HydroControl M
double regulating valve. The red measuring hose of the
OV-DMC 3 is connected to the red HydroPort connection
of the partner valve and the respective partner valve is to

Use the Kv value of the partner valve for a flow
measurement. The values of Oventrop valves are
already stored in the OV-DMC 3.
1
Remove the blue protection cap from the HydroPort
valve of the HydroControl D.
2
Place the blue hose of the OV-DMC 3 on the HydroPort
valve.
3
Remove the red protection cap from the HydroPort
valve of the partner valve.
4
Place the red hose on the red HydroPort valve of the
partner valve.

Risk of environmental pollution!
Incorrect disposal can lead to environmental
damage.

Dispose of packaging material in an
environmentally friendly manner.

Dispose of non-recycable components
according to local regulations.
9. Charts
The recommended application is determined by the
minimum flow rate (qmmin) and the maximum flow rate
(qmmax).
The control valve sizing can be done with the help of the
charts. Depending on the flow rate and the differential
pressure, the appropriate control valve can be determined.
The expected maximum flow rate of the installation must
