Care and maintenance

12.1 General cleaning

• Clean the outside of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth and ordinary
dishwashing liquid.
• Empty and clean the drip tray (Fig. A, no. 1) regularly; at the latest,
however, when the fl oat projects out of the cup plate.
• Clean the coffee grounds container regularly.
Cleaning the steam pipe
• Always clean the steam pipe immediately after use.
• Wait until the steam pipe has cooled down and wipe it on the outside
with a damp cloth.
• For thorough daily cleaning, twist the steam pipe off (Fig. F) and take it
apart (Fig. G).
• Rinse all the parts under running water or in the dishwasher. Clean the
nozzle in particular with a pointed object or a brush (Fig. H).
• Once cleaned, turn the steam pipe clockwise fi rmly into the holder.
Caution!
To avoid damage to the appliance surface, do not use scouring cloths,
–
sponges or cleaning products.
– Do not clean the drip tray in the dishwasher; this could cause deformation.
Note
The coffee grounds container (Fig. A, no. 1) is dishwasher-safe and can be
washed in the dishwasher. Frequent washing in the dishwasher can cause
slight discolorations on the coffee grounds container.
