Working area and surroundings
WARNING
■ Bystanders, children and animals are
not aware of the dangers of the tele‐
scoping wand or flying debris. This
may result in serious injury to
bystanders, children and animals and
damage to property.

► Keep bystanders, children
and animals away from the
working area.
► Do not leave the telescop‐
ing wand unattended.
► Make sure that children
cannot play with the tele‐
scoping wand.
Safe Condition
The telescoping wand is in a safe condi‐
tion if the following points are observed:
– The telescoping wand is not dam‐
aged.
– The high-pressure hose and the cou‐
plings are undamaged.
– The telescoping wand is clean and
dry.
– The controls function properly and
have not been modified.
– Original STIHL accessories designed
for the telescoping wand have been
attached.
– The accessories are correctly instal‐
led.
WARNING
■ If not in safe condition, components
may no longer operate correctly and
safety devices may be rendered inef‐
fective. This can result in serious or
fatal injuries.
► Work only with an undamaged tel‐
escoping wand.
► Never use a damaged high-pres‐
sure hose or couplings.
► If the telescopic lance is dirty or
wet: clean the telescoping wand
and allow it to dry.
► Never attempt to modify the tele‐
scoping wand.
