Assembly
NOTE
Prior to assembly, certain components
require lubrication. Refer to Table 4 for
details.
Body packing
NOTE
Refer to Fig. IPB 3, page 19 for section
view of pump tube assembly.
1 Position gland screw (16) threads
upward.
2 Install and seat washer (17).
3 Install internal ring (18) with concave
surface upward.
NOTE
Use appropriate repair kit for replace-
ment parts. Make sure all components
are included in kit before discarding
used parts.
4 Install five V-packings (19) with concave
surfaces upward
5 Install external ring (20) with flat surface
upward.
6 Install and seat gasket (22) and
washer (21) into body.
7 Tighten gland screw assembly into body
securely to properly crush gasket (22).
8 Install and align upper mounting (15)
onto body.
9 Tighten lock washers (14) and
screws (13) that secure upper mounting
to body in a crisscross pattern.

1 Install piston (11) into top of body
assembly.
Valve and packing assembly
1 Position adapter (30) threaded end
upward.
2 Install washer (31) with lip upward.
3 Install cup packing (32) with flat side
upward.
4 Install spacer (33) with grooved end first
onto adapter.
5 Install back-up ring (35) concave end
first and packing (34) onto valve seat (36).
6 Screw valve seat assembly onto adapter
assembly.
7 Tighten valve seat after it bottoms.
8 Install stop (29) onto stem (28).
9 Install valve seat and packing assembly
with adapter end first onto stem
assembly.
10 Clamp flats of valve (37) horizontally into
a softjaw vise.
11 Screw stem assembly with pipe thread
sealant into valve.
12 Tighten stem assembly securely.
13 Measure distance from bottom of stem
to bottom of valve to verify it is not
greater than 0.15 in (3.8 mm)
(→ Fig. 4, page 15).
NOTE
This setting ensures components
remain engaged.
14 Screw lower coupling (26) onto stem
until spring clip holes align.
15 Measure distance from bottom of
coupling to top of stop to verify distance
is less than 0.23 in (5.8 mm) and no
greater than 0.26 in (6.6 mm)
(→ Fig. 4, page 15).

16 Install spring clip (10).
