Rod and cylinder
17 Install valve seat and packing assembly
onto rod (27) until spring clip holes align.
18 Install spring clip (10).
19 Screw upper coupling (26) onto rod until
spring clip holes align.
20 Install spring clip (10).
NOTE
Use care installing cylinder (24) onto rod
assembly. Damage to cup packing
can occur.
21 Install cylinder (24) with large bore first
onto top of rod assembly, making sure
coupling on rod assembly is exposed
from top of cylinder.
22 Install gasket (22), seam first, into
bottom of body.
23 Screw rod assembly onto piston until
spring clip holes align.
24 Install spring clip (10).
25 Screw cylinder with threadlocker into
body assembly. Do not tighten.
26 Install bung adapter (25) onto cylinder.
Foot valve
1 Install ball (39) into top of foot valve (40).
2 Install and seat gasket (22), seam
upward.
3 Install stop washer (38) with convex
upward.
4 Install additional gasket (22) with seam
first into foot valve.
5 Screw foot valve assembly onto cylinder,
making sure ball moves freely.
6 Clamp pump assembly at body.
7 Place large wrench or other suitable tool
into slot of foot valve.
8 Tighten all components of assembly
securely, making sure to properly crush
all gaskets.
NOTE
Use care installing piston (11) into body
assembly. Damage to V-packings can
occur.
Attach air motor to pump
tube
NOTE
Do not extend piston too far from body.
Coupling and spring clip assembly will
contact V-packing group.
9 Extend piston (11) from top of body
assembly enough to allow access to
spring clip hole.
NOTE
Do not overtighten packing screw (12).
Pump must cycle with initial air pressure
setting of 15 psi (1 bar).
10 Install and tighten packing screw (12)
into gland screw (16) until it contacts
V-packing group. Use torque bar to snug
installation.
11 Screw upper coupling (9) onto rod until
spring clip holes align.
12 Install spring clip (10).
13 Position pump assembly vertically in
soft-jaw vise.
14 Fill cavity of packing screw with solution
that prevents product from drying on
piston.
NOTE
This step is important for visual
feedback due to possible leakage during
initial start up procedures.
15 Place wood block (2 x 4 in) onto surface
of upper mounting as illustrated in
Fig. 3, page 8.
16 Position air motor assembly (2) onto
pump tube assembly making sure to
orient air motor assembly properly.
17 Screw air motor piston rod onto coupling
until spring clip holes align.
18 Install spring clip.
19 Remove block and position air motor
assembly onto pump tube assembly.
20 Install screws (3), lock washers (4), and
nuts (5) that secure air motor assembly
to pump tube assembly.
21 Tighten screws securely in a crisscross
pattern.
