Operation with an 18 V Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery (Accessory)
To insert the charged battery (5), slide it into the battery bay (22) until you feel it en-
gage.
To remove the rechargeable battery, press the battery release button (6) and pull it out
of the battery bay (22). Do not use force to do this.
The rechargeable battery has two locking levels to prevent the battery from falling out if
the battery release button is pressed unintentionally. The rechargeable battery is held in
place by a spring when fitted in the measuring tool.
Operation with a 12 V Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery (Accessory)
The 12 V battery is inserted into the rechargeable battery adapter (21).
The rechargeable battery adapter is intended only for use in designated Bosch

measuring tools and must not be used with power tools. Only Bosch 12 V lithium-
ion rechargeable batteries may be inserted into the rechargeable battery ad-
apter.
To insert the rechargeable battery adapter, push the rechargeable battery
adapter (21) into the battery bay (22) until you feel it engage.
To insert the battery, push the charged 12 V battery (5) into the rechargeable battery
adapter (21) until you feel it engage.
To remove the battery (5), press the release buttons (6) and pull the rechargeable bat-
tery out of the rechargeable battery adapter (21). Do not use force to do this.
To remove the rechargeable battery adapter (21), press the release button (20) in
the battery adapter and pull the rechargeable battery adapter out of the battery
bay (22).
Operation with Non-Rechargeable Batteries (Accessory)
To operate with non-rechargeable batteries, alkaline manganese batteries are inserted
into the battery adapter.
Note: If you use non-rechargeable batteries other than those recommended, the laser
will flash rapidly upon switching on the measuring tool and will then switch itself off.
The battery adapter is intended only for use in designated Bosch measuring

tools and must not be used with power tools.
To insert the non-rechargeable batteries into the battery adapter, push the locking
mechanism (19) of the battery adapter cover and lift the cover. Put the non-re-
chargeable batteries into the battery adapter (18). When inserting the non-rechargeable
batteries, ensure that the polarity is correct according to the illustration on the inside of
the battery adapter.
