8. Dismounting, return and disposal

Physical injury
When dismounting, there is a danger from hazardous media.

Observe the information in the material safety data sheet for the corre-
sponding medium.

Wash or clean the dismounted instrument (following operation), in
order to protect persons and the environment from exposure to resid-
ual media.

Risk of burns
During dismounting there is a risk of dangerously hot media escaping.

Let the instrument cool down to room temperature before dismounting
it.

Physical injuries and damage to property and the environment
caused by hazardous media
Upon contact with hazardous media (e.g. oxygen, acetylene, flammable
or toxic substances) or harmful media (e.g. corrosive, toxic, carcinogenic,
radioactive), there is a danger of physical injuries and damage to proper-
ty and the environment.
Should a failure occur, hazardous media under high pressure or high
temperatures may be present at the instrument.

For these media, in addition to all standard regulations, the appropri-
ate existing codes or regulations must also be followed.
8.1 Dismounting
1. Isolate the instrument from the voltage supply.
2. Tighten the instrument with a suitable tool using the spanner flats. Only disconnect
the instrument once the system has been depressurised and de-energized.
3. Remove any residual media from the instrument, see chapter 7.2 "Cleaning".
4. For packing the instrument, see chapter 3.2 "Packaging and storage".
