2. Brief Instructions

2.1 Generator testing

These brief instructions are intended for users who are familiar
with the handling of combination test benches. They are only
applicable in conjunction with the operating instructions.
Ensure that nobody is in the vicinity of the combi-
nation test bench!
Adhere to the accident prevention regulations!
Switch off the master power switch in the event of danger!
- Clamp and align the generator at right angles
Persons in the vicinity of the combination test bench
are in danger if the test piece is not clamped at right
angles.
- Align rotational-speed sensor with respect to the axis of the
generator (for testing AC generators > 6000 rpm only)
- Close protective cowl
- Switch on test bench
- Select direction of rotation
- Select voltage measurement range
- Select current measurement range
- Select test rotational-speed range
- Carry out electrical connection (AC generators only)
- Switch on back-up resistance (AC generators only)
- Connect battery
- Select/start up rotational speed
- Switch on load resistance
- Read off test values from the instruments (40, 41, 42 and 43)

2.2 Starting motor test

These brief instructions are intended for users who are familiar
with the handling of combination test benches. They are only
applicable in conjunction with the operating instructions.

nation test bench!

- Clamp and align the starting motor at right angles

are in danger if the test piece is not clamped at right
angles.
- Align rotational-speed sensor with respect to the starting motor
axis
- Close protective cowl
- Switch on test bench
- Select voltage measurement range
- Select current measurement range
- Select test rotational-speed range
- Carry out electrical connection
- Connect battery
- Place load on starting motor in accordance with characteristic
data
- Read off test values from the instruments (43, 44 and 45)
