Bevel cuts

3
Note:
A bevel cut cuts the workpiece at an
angle to the vertical.
Maximum cut dimensions: see section
'Cut dimensions/settings for various
cuts'.
Depending on the mitre angle it may be
necessary to push the movable fence
halves apart before adjustment.
KGS 216 / 254 / 315 Plus:
KGS 254 I Plus:
Starting position
– Sawhead fully raised.
– Movable fence halves pushed apart
and locked in place.
– Cutting depth limiter deactivated.
– Rotary table in 0° position, lock
screw for rotary table tightened.
– Lock screw of the track arm loos-
ened.
– Track arm not extended.
Adjusting the tilt limiter
1. Release locking lever (88).
2. Set the track arm holder to the 0°
position.
3. Swivel the tilt limiter (87) to the low-
er position. The saw blade tilt can
now be adjusted to approx. 46°.
87
– Tilt limiter in upper position = cut-
ting angle range to 45°
– Tilt limiter in lower position = cutting
angle range to approx. 46°
Adjusting the saw
1. Loosen the lock lever (88) for saw-
head tilt at the rear of the saw.
89
2. Tilt the track arm holder slowly into
the desired position:
Pull the notch lever (89) in the di-
rection of the operator side =
stepless track arm holder adjust-
ment.
Push the notch lever (89) in the
direction of the rear side = lock-
ing the track arm holder in preset
stop positions.
3
Note:
The track arm holder has preset stops
at angles of 0°, 22.5° and 33.9°.
3. Tighten the sawhead tilt lock lever.
A
Caution!
In order to prevent the angle of inclina-
tion from changing during cutting, tight-
en the lock lever of the track arm holder
(even when engaged in a preset stop
position!).
Cutting the workpiece
Cut the workpiece as described un-
der 'Mitre cuts'.

Compound mitre cuts

3
Note:
The compound mitre cut is a combina-
tion of mitre and bevel cuts. This
means the workpiece is cut at an angle
other than 90° to the rear guide edge
and to its upper surface.
Maximum cut dimensions: see section
'Cut dimensions/settings for various
cuts'.
A
Danger when safety devices
are detached!
Depending on the mitre angle and bev-
el tilt it may be necessary to remove the
movable fence halves before cutting.
Install the fence halves again imme-
diately after cutting!
A
Danger!
During cutting of compound mitres the
saw blade is much more exposed than
it normally is due to the pronounced tilt-
ing – increased risk of injury.
88
Always maintain a sufficient dis-
tance to the saw blade.
Starting position
– Sawhead fully raised.
– Movable fence halves pushed apart
and locked in place or removed.
– Cutting depth limiter activated.
– Rotary table locked in desired posi-
tion.
– Track arm holder tilted to desired
angle to the workpiece's surface
and locked in place.
