ENGLISH
– Lock screw of the track arm loos-
ened.
– Track arm not extended.
Cutting the workpiece
Cut the workpiece as described un-
der 'Mitre cuts'.
3
Note:
Crown mouldings can be cut with their
rear on the saw table and their top
edge resting against the fence.
7.6
Cutting of small cutoffs
During cutting with an extended track
arm, the retractable blade guard may
get jammed on the workpiece when the
sawhead assembly is pushed back.
If this happens, release the ON/OFF
switch and let the sawhead assem-
bly slowly return to its upper starting
position.
Jamming of the retractable blade oc-
curs in rare cases only, for example:
– during sawing of small cutoffs (90)
which must be cut using the radial
pull action due to their widths;
90
– with compound mitre cuts to the left
side.
Cutting the workpiece
3
Note:
All settings of the saw (position of the ro-
tating table and sawhead assembly tilt)
remain unchanged for making the de-
sired cut. What changes is the direction
of cutting through the workpiece.
Cut the workpiece as described in
'Mitre cuts', but with the sawhead
moved all the way back (away from
the operator) prior to cutting
32
and slowly lowering the handle
completely and pulling forward (to-
wards the operator) with both hands
to cut.
7.7
Grooving
3
Note:
Together with the track arm, the cutting
depth limiter makes grooving possible.
With grooving no parting cut is made;
the workpiece is just cut to a certain
depth.
A
Risk of kickback!
When grooving it is especially important
not to apply any lateral pressure to the
saw blade. Otherwise the sawhead
may kick up abruptly! Use a stock
clamp when grooving. Avoid lateral
pressure on the sawhead.
Starting position
– Sawhead fully raised.
– Sawhead tilted to desired angle to
the workpiece's surface and locked.
– Movable fence halves slid apart and
arrested in position (with track arm
holder tilted).
– Rotary table locked in desired posi-
tion.
– Lock screw of the track arm loos-
ened.
– Track arm not extended.
Adjusting the saw
1. Move the cutting depth limiter to the
innermost position (91).
2. Adjust cutting depth limiter to de-
sired cutting depth and secure in
position with lock nut(92).
3. Release the safety lock and swing
the sawhead down to check the set
cutting depth.
4. Make a trial cut.
5. Repeat steps 1 and 4 if necessary
until the desired cutting depth has
been set.
