and signal fuses must be fulfilled. These requirements

are described in
Chapter 11 Installation
The intended use of the terminal box is to be a part of
the FlexFilter EX electrical system. The terminal box
is not intended to be used as a stand-alone compon-
ent as the protection of the terminal box depends on
it being part of the FlexFilter EX.
The terminal box manual contains detailed informa-
tion regarding the Declaration of Conformity, ATEX
approval, and special requirements.

13.5 Installation

From the control system (see
wire cable (see
Figure
on the terminal box (see
A 12G0.75 cable is recommended. Ensure IP6X protec-
tion of the cable and that the cable is installed with
proper strain relief.
See enclosed documents for electrical wiring.

13.6 Control system requirements

WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Control signals must be fused, maximum 5 A, to
avoid heating of the terminal box and outgoing
electrical wires.
Cleaning valve operation,
• 24 V DC, Signal opens the valve.
• Adjustable timing. Normally open 4 seconds, closed
60 minutes.
• For a FlexFilter EX Twin, the second cleaning valve
must operate in sequence. Normally it opens 10
seconds after the first one is closed.
• The cleaning valve and TVFD feedout operation may
not occur simultaneously.
TVFD operation,
• Signal 24 V DC, opens the valve.
• TVFD is supervised with position indicators, indicat-
ing a closed valve. The control system must ensure
that only one valve at a time is opened.
• For a FlexFilter EX Twin, both of the TVFD can oper-
ate simultaneously as the operation is not affecting
the vacuum.
• A minimum 10-second delay must follow the clean-
ing valve operation before a TVFD sequence can be
initiated.
• The alarm should be triggered if either of the valve/
s is not reported closed within 15 seconds after the
open signal is removed.
• The alarm should be triggered if a TVFD valve is still
reported closed within 15 seconds after the open
signal is applied.
• At alarm from Explosion Relief Panel Sensor or fire
alarm, both valves shall be closed without delay.

• It is recommended to use a bypass switch, such as
the Nederman "NS-Switch", to avoid above men-
tioned TVFD false alarms when changing the Bulk
Bags.
Explosion Relief Panel Sensor indicates an open Ex-
plosion Relief Panel.
Signal 24 V DC, closed-circuit when Explosion Relief
Panel is closed (intact).
• Alarm if an open circuit

14.2 Requirements

For air consumption, quality and max and min pres-
sure, see
Chapter 5 Technical
The specified air consumption of the FlexFilter EX is
limited to the short operation of the cleaning valve
and the TVFD. Maximum (short time) consumption is
about 700 NL/Min (1400 NL/min FlexFilter EX Twin).
As new pipes may contain dirt/particles/debris, the
compressed air pipe should be blown clean before
connecting the FlexFilter EX. Use ear protection and
safety goggles!
A compressed air filter (see
stalled to ensure the reliable and safe operation of the
FlexFilter EX. The main valve, that bleeds the remain-
ing pressure of the FlexFilter EX, should be installed
(see
Figure
18/2).
Take necessary measures to avoid water/hu-
midity in the compressed air when the FlexFil-
ter EX is installed in cold environments.
