9) Once the lamination resin is sufficiently distributed: displace excess
lamination resin in the area of the cylinder body to the distal end by
wrapping with polyethylene adhesive tape. Wrap tightly so the system
becomes airtight.
10) Allow lamination resin to cure.
11) Finish the prosthetic socket (see Page 28).
5.3 Finishing the Prosthetic Socket
Required materials: mounting wrench, snap bushings, 617H46 silic­

one bonding agent, 633F30=2 Polylub GLY 801
1) Mark and trim the contour of the prosthetic socket.
2) Sand free the valve dummy and remove the Plastaband.
3) Unscrew the valve dummy and retain it. After fabricating the check sock­
et, the valve dummy is still required for the fabrication of the final pros­
thetic socket.
4) Remove the prosthetic socket from the plaster model.
5) Remove the piston dummy and silicone dummy from the plaster model
and insert into the cylinder so it is closed (see fig. 26).
6) Close the opening in the piston dummy with Plastaband.
7) Screw in the valve dummy (see fig. 27).
8) Sand the contour of the prosthetic socket.
9) Sand the distal end of the socket down to the heads of the cap screws
(see fig. 28).
10) Remove the cap screws.
11) Sand the distal end of the socket flat and check that its surface is even.
12) Remove any dirt from the 4 openings in the distal end of the socket. This
ensures that the snap bushings will lie flat against the cylinder body.
13) INFORMATION: The snap bushings must protrude approx. 1 mm
from the laminate. This ensures forces are transferred to the
Dynamic Vacuum System.
Apply silicone bonding agent to the snap bushings and insert them into
the openings with the groove end first (see fig. 29).
14) Unscrew the valve dummy.
15) Remove the piston dummy and silicone dummy from the prosthetic sock­
et.
16) Wipe out the cylinder space with a lint-free cloth.
17) Grease the cylinder space and O-rings of the valve bushing with the
supplied Polylub GLY 801.
