achieved when both the ironing plate and
the roller are at the maximum temperature
the treated fabric can withstand, it is easy to
understand that if the roller is at a lower
temperature due to excessive extraction, the
quality and productivity of the machine
drop considerably.
Besides featuring all manual type extraction
adjustments, the machine with automatic
extraction adjustment is also able to
automatically regulate the extraction power
of the roller.
Thanks to this system, the temperature on
the ironing plate and on the roller always
remain at a perfect level for the treated
fabric, thereby ensuring maximum machine
efficiency in all work conditions.
To regulate extraction on machines with
automatic extraction option, it is possible to
proceed in two different ways:
1) Regulation of fan speed by means of the
display, adapting this to the best ironing
conditions
2) Leave the machine to decide the
extraction unit speed.
In any case, the work condition will be
selected that produces the best quality of the
ironed product.
To set extraction unit operation, either
automatically or according to the user's
needs, enter the SERVICE menu and go to
the item EXTRACTION – CHOICE OF
EXTRACTION.
In this field, two items can be selected:
-
Automatic steam extraction
-
Adjustable steam extraction
Adjustable steam extraction
If the machine is set on adjustable extraction,
extraction can be increased or decreased
according to need in order to obtain a
completely dried product.
Adjustment of the steam extraction on the
roller is done by selecting the icon relating
to extraction (cfr. description of icons on par
7.2) by means of the navigator buttons and
then, after setting change mode by means of
the ENTER key, by means of the two arrows
and
, the steam extraction can be
regulated and set at the required value.
7 settings can be made: the bar graph shows
the applied extraction as in the following
example which indicates three gradually
increasing extraction configurations.
Steam extraction
low
medium
maximum
Always remember that high steam extraction
settings produce cooling of the roller surface
with consequent increase in energy
consumption of the machine; we therefore
recommend setting the extraction intensity
at a value that permits complete linen drying
without any purposeless subtraction of heat
from the machine.
Automatic steam extraction
By selecting automatic steam extraction
inside the extraction-selection service menu,
the machine will control extraction
automatically and show current extraction
intensity on the display screen.
If, after many hours of operation, the machine
no longer has enough extraction to
completely dry the linen, make sure the
ironing steam exhaust pipes and the
extraction unit itself are clean. If there is any
material even partially blocking the flow of
air, clean the pipes and the extraction unit
using a powerful vacuum cleaner. If there is
any material even partially blocking the
flow of air, clean the pipes and the extraction
fan using a powerful vacuum cleaner.
If the machine is still unable to dry the linen,
alter the opening of the slot on the extraction
fan as shown in the section dedicated to
standard extraction (cf. 9).
7.11 END OF WORK SESSION
At the end of the work session, it is best to
leave the roller moving for a few minutes
with the ironing press at medium-low
pressure, so as to eliminate any remaining
humidity in the covering. For this purpose,
ironing plate heating only can be switched
off by means of the dedicated button # 2.
To stop the machine, simply press the STOP
button # 4 after a few minutes. The press will
return to idle position and the roller will
come to a halt. By pressing the I/O button,
the machine switches off.
After this operation, use the disconnection
switch on board the machine and the
automatic switch on the wall to interrupt
power to the machine.
7.12 IRONING PROGRAMS
To more easily change the parameters that
control the machine, a memory area has
been set aside inside the board in which it is
possible to record a combination of
fundamental parameters and assign a name
to this combination.
Each name of such parameter combination
is called Program.
For example, the combination of parameters
-
Ironing speed: 3.0 m/min
-
Temperature: 180°C
-
Pressure: 4 (indicated by 4 lines on the
display screen)
-
Steam extraction: 3 (indicated by 3
lines on the display screen)
Represents program P1 , called Cotton, and
which is directly factory set.
Similarly, preset factory programs have been
created. The list of these programs, with the
relevant reset parameters are summed up in
the following table:
Program
Speed
Temperature Pressure
P1 - Cotton
3,0
180°C
P2 - Wool
3,0
150°C
P3 - Synthetics 3,2
110°C
29
The factory-set programs can be fully
changed so as to be able to adapt them to
specific machine installation needs.
Any name can be given to the program and
this must not necessarily refer to a fabric; it
may be that the items belonging to a specific
category, e.g., bed sheets, have to be ironed
in a special way compared to other items
made of the same material: in this case,
these items will be ironed using the specially
created
BED SHEET program which
envisages for instance a change in ironing
pressure compared to standard cotton.
To save the displayed program, once the
necessary parameters have been changed
directly on the display screen, select SAVE.
7.13 MENU STRUCTURE
The menu has a tree-like structure that can
be accessed by means of the navigation keys
as explained in paragraph 7.2.
The programming of the new ironing cycles
can only be done with the machine at a
standstill; such programming is done by
selecting the MENU item from the main
display page and then confirming by means
of the ENTER key. If the menu is accessed
with the machine operating, this will
immediately come to a halt.
The menu structure implemented inside the
board is a tree-like structure as shown in the
following illustration:

Access to the various tree items is done by
positioning the cursor above the item in
question using the navigation keys and
pressing the ENTER key.
To return to the upper level, select the item
PREVIOUS MENU, which is the last item
inside the list of available items in each
menu, and press ENTER. Alternatively, for
the sub-menus only, it is possible to return
to the previous menu by pressing the key .
