2.4. Safety Instructions
Technical condition
■ Never operate the paint spray gun if damaged or if parts are missing.
■ If damaged, immediately discontinue using the paint spray gun, discon-
nect it from the compressed air circuit and bleed completely.
■ Never alter or make technical modifications to the paint spray gun.
■ Before each use, check the paint spray gun and all connected com-
ponents for damage and ensure they are securely attached. Repair if
necessary.
Work materials
■ Use of acidic or alkaline spray media is prohibited.
■ Use of solvents with halogenated hydrocarbons, gasoline, kerosene,
herbicides, pesticides and radioactive substances is prohibited. Halo-
genated solvents could lead to the formation of explosive and caustic
chemical compounds.
■ Use of aggressive materials containing large, sharp-edged and abra-
sive pigments is prohibited. This includes, for instance, different types
of adhesive, contact and dispersion adhesives, chlorinated rubber,
plaster-like materials and paints containing coarse fibers.
■ When working with the paint spray gun, always limit solvents, paints,
coatings or other hazardous spray media to the quantities which are
required for the paint job. Excess material must be returned to the des-
ignated storage areas afterwards.
Operating parameters
■ The paint spray gun must only be operated within the range of parame-
ters indicated on the type plate.
Connected components
■ Use only genuine SATA accessories and replacement parts.
■ The connected hoses and lines must reliably withstand the expected
thermal, chemical and mechanical load requirements during operation.
■ Disconnecting pressurized hoses can cause them to move in a whip-
like manner, resulting in injuries. Always bleed the hoses completely
before removal.
Cleaning
■ Never clean the paint spray gun with cleaning media that contain acids
or lye.
