3. GENERAL USE OF THE SAFETY SEAT
3.1. Support wedge.
The support wedge is inserted (fig.3.1) into the back of the shock-
absorbing cushion
baby is small.
The child safety seat must be used with the shock-absorbing cushion
until the baby exceeds the height of 87cm. It must be used together with
the support wedge for infants not exceeding the height of 75cm.
CAUTION: The shock-absorbing cushion
children exceeds the height of 105cm. In this case, do not use the wedge
or the shock-absorbing cushion.
To remove the support wedge from the shock-absorbing cushion (B),
simply extract it from the pocket as indicated in fig. 3.2.
3.2. Adjusting the harness.
A correctly adjusted harness ensures that your child will be optimally
protected in the car safety seat:
Adjust the harness so that the shoulder straps
the child's shoulders (fig. 4.18).
CAUTION! The shoulder straps must not pass behind the child's back or
be at the same level as, or above, his/her ears.
1. To loosen the straps, press the harness adjuster button
simultaneously pulling the harness straps away from the chest area (fig. 3.3).
2. To tighten the straps, pull the harness adjuster strap
lap belt from becoming slack. Make sure that the harness has been
tightened and that the buckle is fastened. To unbuckle the harness
press the red button..
3.3. Adjusting the headrest.
A correctly adjusted headrest
the vehicle seat belt is optimally positioned, offering the child the best
possible protection.
Adjust the headrest in such a way as to leave a small space of two finger-
widths between the headrest and your child's shoulders.
