1) The year of manufacture is indicated by the third letter in the serial number:
T = 2003, U = 2004, W = 2005, X = 2006, Y = 2007, Z = 2008, A = 2009,
B = 2010, C = 2011, etc.
Example: Serial No. ARUH-0054: the third letter is U, which means that the
unit was manufactured in 2004.

2 Intended Operating Area and Operating Conditions
Hazardous Areas classified by Zones
The device is intended to be used in hazardous areas or mines sus-
ceptible to firedamp classified zone 1 or zone 2, within a tempera-
ture range of –20
IIA, IIB or IIC and temperature class T3 or T4 (depending on batter-
ies) may be present.
If used in mines, the device is only to be used in areas known to have
a low risk of mechanical impact.

3 Instructions for Safety
Use only approved batteries. See marking on instrument pack for
approved batteries an related Temperature Code.
WARNING:
Do not change batteries in hazardous locations, risk of
explosion

To reduce the risk of explosion, do not mix new batteries
with used batteries, or mix batteries of different type or
manufacturer.
WARNING:
Remove batteries before servicing.
WARNING:
Remove instrument before opening and changing batteries.
WARNING:
Substitution of components may impair Intrinsic Safety.

Not tested in oxygen enriched atmospheres
(>21% O ).
