Note: suppressing aileron differential
If the ailerons are raised as a landing aid (or for a But-
terfly (crow) system), usually only the aileron on the
outside of the turn deflects (down) when an aileron
command is given. If the down-aileron travel is smaller
than the up-aileron travel due to the aileron differential
you have set, the result is reduced aileron response on
the landing approach.
To ensure that the model is as responsive as possible,
the down-aileron travel is increased to the same value
as the up-going aileron when the SPOILER control is
operated.

MIXER
In this menu you set the travel of the ailerons when the
FLAP control (left-hand slider) is operated. Two values
have to be entered, because the ailerons can be raised
(speed setting) and lowered (launch, thermal setting)
from the neutral position.
Moving to the F ->AI menu:

Move the FLAP control (left-hand slider) to both end-
points in turn, and set the desired travels using the 3-D
digi-adjustor. Any changes you make are immediately
visible on the model itself.
A brief press
on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The flashing ceases, and the values are
stored.

! Please be careful with this function. Snap-flap can
place extreme aerodynamic loads on the model
which can result in major structural failure (e.g.
during a speed run).
! Note the switch position SNAP/DTC (S3)!
This mixer input only has any effect when the
switch is set to ON.
In this menu you set how far the ailerons are to deflect
(both in the same direction) when the ELEVATOR stick
is moved.
Once again there are two values to set for "up-elevator"
and "down-elevator" commands on the elevator stick.

Move the ELEVATOR stick to both end-points in turn,
and set the desired control surface travels using the 3-
D digi-adjustor. Any changes you make are im-
mediately visible on the model itself.
A brief press
on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The flashing ceases, the values are stored.

14.6. Elevator mixers

Inputs from the THROTTLE, SPOILER and FLAP con-
trols can be mixed into the elevator signal (servo 2) in
order to provide automatic correction to unwanted ef-
fects on the model's flight path (pitch trim). The three
mixer inputs are therefore prefixed with -CO (CO =
COmpensation).
TIP: please take the trouble to adjust the mechanical
linkage system (neutral position and maximum travels)
before you start setting up the mixer inputs.
The next step is to set the control servos exactly to
centre "electronically" in the SERVO CENTRE menu,
after which you should set the servo travel to maximum
on both sides of neutral in the SERVO TRAVEL menu.
Only then should you start dialling in the mixer inputs.
Note: V-tail models
If your model is fitted with a V-tail, you must first acti-
vate and set up the V-tail (
inputs can then be entered as described in the follow-
ing sections (14.6.2. and 14.6.3.). The three inputs then
affect both V-tail control surfaces (servos 2 and 3).

Primary input: Elevator
In this mixer there are no elevator adjustment facilities;
maximum elevator travel is set in the TRAVEL menu
for servo 2. You can adjust the effect of the stick using
Dual-Rate (DR E) and the Exponential function (EXP
