Input: Spoiler SP->F
If you wish to raise the inboard flaps to help the model
descend, or lower them for a Butterfly (crow) system,
you have to dial in this input. The default setting is 0%
(no deflection). Here there is only one value, as the in-
board flaps only move in one direction from the neutral
position (
14.5.3.).
Input: Aileron Q ->F
The Aileron input has two values which have to be
entered. If you are setting up a new model, both values
will be set to the default 0%, i.e. the inboard flaps will
not respond when you operate the AILERON stick. If
you wish the inboard flaps to have differential move-
ment (more up-travel than down-travel), set two dif-
ferent values at this point (
Input: Elevator
This input changes the position of the inboard flaps
when the ELEVATOR stick is operated. The input can
be switched on and off using the S3 switch (SNAP).
The default setting is 0% for both values. This function
is known as Snap-Flap, and supports the elevator
function, e.g. for pulling tight turns (F3B) or aerobatics
(
14.5.5.).

Changing wing camber using the inboard
flaps
) F ->F
Menu: (
MIXER
In this menu you set the flap travel when the FLAP
control (left-hand slider) is operated. Two values have
to be set at this point, because the flaps are required to
deflect up (speed) and down (launch, thermal setting)
from the neutral position.
Note: no camber-changing flap function required:
If you do not wish to make use of the camber-changing
flap function, simply set both values in this menu to 0%.
Moving to the F ->F menu:
to MENU,
to MIXER,
to F->F,
Slider back:
both flaps down
Move the FLAP control (left-hand slider) to both end-
points in turn, and set the desired control surface trav-
els using the 3-D digi-adjustor. Any changes you make
are immediately visible on the model itself.
A brief press
on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The flashing ceases, and the values are
stored.

Caution: if the control surfaces don't respond, ...
you may have set a fixed value for the FLAP control in
the mixer menu FIX F (

Aileron support using the inboard flaps
Menu: (
In this menu you set the flap deflection up and down
when the AILERON function is operated.
Note: direction of rotation of servos
For the following settings we assume that you have
already checked and corrected the direction of rotation
for servos 1 and 5. (
Moving to the AI->F menu:
to MENU,
to MIXER,
to AI->F,
Stick left:
right flap - no
deflection
If you hold the stick at one end-point, you can observe
the effect of any change you make by watching the
right-hand inboard flap (servo 7).
In our example the down-travel is 0% (no deflection),
the up-travel 40%. This method of working is some-
times known as "split" mode.
A brief press
on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The flashing ceases, and the values are
stored.
Note: if you have activated flight phases ..
(
14.8.), there are two values for the Aileron input
AI ->F in each of the three flight phases, i.e. a total
of six values.
! In this case please take particular care when enter-
ing the values, as it is quite easy to forget or overlook
one value. The result could be an unexpected re-
sponse from your model when you switch phases.
14.7.4.
Butterfly (moving flaps to landing setting)
Menu: (
In this menu you set the down-travel of the inboard
flaps when the Spoiler control is operated. Only one
value has to be set at this point, because the ailerons
are only required to move in one direction from the
neutral position.
