Follow-Up Steering System
Follow-Up Steering System
1
Introduction
This manual contains information about the installation and
operation of the Vetus Follow-Up steering system. Please
read this manual carefully before installing the Follow-Up
steering system or taking it into service.
When the Follow-Up system is in operation the rudder follows
the set position of a handle. This can be a handle which is per-
manently mounted at a steering position or a handle which can
be moved from place to place. A maximum of 3 handles can be
connected in the system.
The current taken by reversible motors, electro-hydraulic
pumps or electro-mechanical driving units may not be greater
than 20 Ampere.
At each steering position indicators show whether the system is
switched on and whether the handle is active.
It is possible to allocate one steering position as the main (mas-
ter) steering position. A blocking switch then prevents any of the
other steering positions from being used.
