2.4 Trimming the handles

It is possible to calibrate the handles in such a way that when
they are in the 0 position the ship will continue to steer a straight
course.
Setting the trim
Set the handle of the active steering position so that the ship
steers straight ahead. The maximum angle of the handle may
not be more than 5o!
Hold the 'SET' button pressed in for 5 seconds. The LED will
go out.
Move the handle to the 0 position and press 'SET' again.
If the 'SET' button is not pressed within 15 seconds after the last
time the handle is moved the trim procedure will be cancelled.
If necessary the procedure can be repeated if a different (larger
or smaller) angle is required. The maximum offset value that
can be set is 10º.
N.B.: the maximum rudder angle relative to the normal cen-
tre position is not affected!
Setting the trim back to 0
Put the handle to the 0 position.
Hold the 'SET' button pressed in for 5 seconds.
The trim will also be set back to zero after switching the power
off and on.
Changing steering position (taking over) and trim
When the controls are taken over at another steering position
the trim which has been set remains in force.
