Briggs & Stratton welcomes warranty repair and apologizes to
y0u t0r being inconvenienced.
Any Authorized Service Dealer
may perform warranty repairs. lvlost warranty repairs are han-
dled routinely. but sometimes requests for warranty service
may n0t be appr0priale.
F0r exarnple, warranty would not apply
if engine damage occuned because of misuse. lack of routine
marntenance,
shipping, handling, warehousing or improper
installation.
Similarlv, wanantv is void rf the serial number of the
engine has been removed oi the engine has been altered 0r
modified.
lf a customer differs with the decision of the Service Dealer. an
investigation
will be made to determine whether the warranty
applies. Ask the Servjce Dealer to submit all supporting facts t0
his Distributor
or the Factory tor review. lf the Distributor
or the
FactorV decides that the claim is iustified. the customer will be
fully reimbursed
for those items th'at are defective. To avoid mis-
understanding
which might occur between the customer and
the Dealer, listed below are some of the causes of enqine failure
that the warrantV does not cover.
Normal wear:
Engines. like all mechanical devices. need periodic parts ser-
vice and replacement
to perform well. Warranty will not cover
repair when normal use has exhausted the life of a part or an

The life of an engine depends up0n the conditions under which it
operates. and the care it receives. Some applicati0ns,
such as
tillers. pumps and rotary mowers, are very often used in dusty or
dirty conditions.
