Do's
Make sure that the unit is installed in accordance with all National and
Electrical Codes.
Make sure to install the Bitron at least 6 feet from the edge of the pond.
Make sure to keep the outlet system free of dirt and debris.
Make sure to unplug the unit before servicing the unit.
Make sure to keep the plugs and connections dry at all times.
Make sure to return the unit to an authorized service dealer for any
repairs.
Don'ts
Do not exceed the "Maximum Operating Pressure" of 7 psi.
Do not carry or pull the unit by the power cord.
Do not tamper with or operate unit without the proper grounding plug.
Do not operate the unit if the power cord appears to be defective.
Do not operate the lamp outside of the housing.
Do not operate the unit without water flowing through the unit.
Do not expose eyes or skin to the lamp's rays.
Do not attempt any repairs on this unit.
Do not open the casing of the Bitron or its accessories unless expressly
directed to do so in the instructions

5. Electrical connection

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown,
grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce
the risk of electric shock. This product is equipped with an electrical cord
having an equipment grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug
must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and
grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
DANGER – Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can
result in the risk of electrocution. Check with a qualified electrician or service
personnel if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded.
Do not modify the plug provided with the product – if it will not fit the outlet,
have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. Do not use any type of
adapter with the product.

6. Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protection

To comply with the National Electric Code (NFPA 70) and to provide additional
protection from the risk of electrical shock, this unit should only be connected
to a receptacle that is protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI).
WARNING – To reduce the risk of electrocution, keep all connections dry and
off the ground. Do not touch plug with wet hands.
