Batteries, motors, regulators, limit switches, protective devices, electrical conductors,
and connections must be inspected and serviced using generally recognized
procedures. Particular attention should be paid to the condition of the electrical
insulation.
In order to prevent injury and / or damage, the connection procedures specified by
the battery manufacturer must be followed when replacing the contacts in one of the
battery terminals.
Industrial trucks should be kept in a clean condition to minimize the risk of fire and to
allow loose or defective parts to be identified quickly.
Modifications and / or additions to the industrial truck and / or to the hardware or
software, which adversely affect the specified load capacity, the safe operation of the
truck or the emergency controls or devices, should only be undertaken with the prior
written approval of the manufacturer. If such modifications and / or additions are
approved in writing by the manufacturer, all signs, markings or warnings in
connection with load capacity, operation, and maintenance must be altered
accordingly.
Ensure that all spare parts are mounted in the same way as the original components
and that their quality and performance is at least equal to that of the original
equipment. All parts must be fitted in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Wheels, support wheels, ground or wheel locks, steering and control mechanisms,
fastening and warning devices, lights, lift overload systems, protective and safety
devices, lifting and lowering mechanisms, and frame crossbeams must be inspected
carefully at regular intervals and maintained in a safe working condition.
