Braking system: The electrical braking system consists of independent brake
systems. Releasing the brake button triggers plugging braking of the drive motor and
spring tension brake.
The spring tension brake is operated electrically and acts mechanically (pressure
spring) on a magnetic brake mounted on the drive. This brake is also used for
emergency braking. A warning display lights if the parking brake is engaged.
Problems in the steering and braking system (emergency stop actuation) are
displayed on the operator display or the on-board computer.
Emergency stop safety concept: The emergency stop is controlled by the drive
control.
The steering control sends a system status signal that is monitored by the drive
control. If the signal is absent or known errors occur, braking is automatically
triggered until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. Control indicators on the
operator display show the emergency stop. Each time the vehicle is turned on, the
system runs a self-diagnosis that releases the parking brake (=emergency stop) only
if the function check is successful.
Steering: Electrical steering that turns the drive via a spur gear. The steering wheel
is used to steer the vehicle.
Driver's seat: The driver's seat is ergonomic and offers lots of leg room. The brake
button is located on the left and the dead man switch on the right. The vehicle brakes
if the driver's hand is removed from the operating switch.
