Manually releasing the locking
device
It is necessary to release the wheel manually after
a blackout, if the compressed air is interrupted or its
pressure is too low, or if the unit malfunctions. If it is not
possible to release the wheel normally using the unit
controls, it must be released manually. If the machine is
faulty, remove the wheel and do not use the equipment
until you have contacted the Assistance Service.
To remove the wheel, proceed as follows:
Tools required:
Tyre lever (1-A)
12mm diameter rod (1-B)
Figure 5.6.1
1. Switch off the machine and disconnect it from the
power and pneumatic supply lines.
2. Insert the lever in the correct position (1-A);
3. Insert the rod into the hole for the release tool
(2-B);
4. Turn the rod (3-A) anti-clockwise to release the
clamping force on the shaft.
5. Unscrew the knob and fl ange (4-C and D)and
remove them. Apply some tape (5-E) to the knob
to protect it from damage in the event of excessive
force.
6. Remove the fl ange (4-D) and then take the wheel
off the unit.
7. Once the faults have been fi xed, connect the
machine to the power and pneumatic lines, and
then activate the release control to remove the
shaft (6-F).
