1 Correct usage
The Deltex sander can be used to smooth
wood, plastics, metal, steel, composite mate-
rials, paintlacquers, fi ller, stopper and similar
materials. Thanks to the triangular shape of
the sanding pad the machine is particularly
suitable for processing tricky corners, edges
and grooves.
If explosive or self-igniting dusts are produced
during the sanding of certain materials the
manufacturer's processing instructions must
be observed. The user is liable for damages
and accidents arising from incorrect usage.
2 Safety instructions

2.1 General safety instructions

WARNING! Read all safety warn-
ings and all instructions. Failure to
follow the warnings and instructions may
result in electric shock, fi re and/or serious
injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for
future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers
to your mains-operated (corded) power tool
or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

2.2 Machine-related safety instructions

• Always wear protective goggles because of
possible dangers when sanding.
• If potentially explosive or self-igniting dust
is produced during sanding, the processing
instructions of the material manufacturer
must be observed under all circumstances.
• Harmful/toxic dusts can be produced during
your work (e.g. lead-containing paint, some

types of wood and metal). Contact with
these dusts, especially inhaling them, can
represent a hazard for operating personnel
or persons in the vicinity. Comply with the
safety regulations that apply in your coun-
try. Connect the electric power tool to a
suitable extraction system. To protect your
health, wear a P2 protective mask.

2.3 Noise and vibration information

The device-typical values recorded according
to EN 60 745 are:
Sound level
Noise level
Measuring uncertainty allowance
Wear ear protection.
Overall vibration levels (vector sum for three
directions) measured in accordance with EN
60 745:
Vibration emission level
(3 directions):
Uncertainty
Gear head
The emission values specified (vibration,
noise) were measured in accordance with
the test conditions stipulated in EN 60 745
and are intended for machine comparisons.
They are also used for making preliminary
estimates regarding vibration and noise loads
during operation.
The emission values specifi ed refer to the
main applications for which the power tool
is used. If the electric power tool is used
for other applications, with other tools or is
not maintained suffi ciently prior to opera-
tion, however, the vibration and noise load
may be higher when the tool is used. Take
into account any machine idling times and
downtimes to estimate these values more
accurately for a specifi ed time period. This
may signifi cantly reduce the load during the
machine operating period.
2.4 Metalworking
The following precautions are to be taken
when processing metals for safety reasons:
– Connect a residual current operated device
in series before the tool.
– Connect tool to a suitable dust extractor.
Wood dust must be removed from the dust
extractor beforehand – because of the
danger of dust explosion!
– Clean tool regularly of dust accumulations
in the motor housing.
3 Electrical connections and starting
The mains voltage must comply with the
voltage specifi ed on the ratings plate!
Push the switch (1.3) forwards to start the
machine. A slight pressure on the rear of the
switch is enough to switch the machine off.
