Malfunction Possible cause
NET LED flashes red Connection to master has been
disrupted. EtherNet/IP communication
can no longer take place.
An error was discovered in the
PLC configuration.
NET LED is off A physical connection to the network has
not yet been established.
Neither a static nor a dynamic IP address
has been assigned.
No DHCP service has been activated.
NET LED flashes green The network connection is in place,
but an EtherNet/IP connection has not
been established.
L/A 1 or L/A 2 LED No data exchange with the bus coupler,
illuminated in green e.g. because the network section is not
(only seldom yellow connected to a controller
flashing)
Bus coupler was not configured in the
controller.
L/A 1 or L/A 2 LED There is no connection to a network
is off participant.
The bus cable is defective and
no connection can be made with the next
network participant.
Another network participant is defective. Exchange network participant.
Bus coupler is defective.
Troubleshooting
Remedy
Check the connection to the master.
Check the PLC configuration.
Establish physical connection
to the network (connect and/or check
EtherNet cable).
Assign IP address (see 9.3 "Assigning IP
address and subnet mask" on page 96)
Re-activate DHCP service.
Connect the module to an EtherNet/IP
system.
Switch on the EtherNet/IP controller.
Connect the network section with a
controller.
Configure bus coupler in the controller.
Connect fieldbus connection X7E1
or X7E2 with a network participant
(e.g. a switch).
Exchange the bus cable.
Exchange the bus coupler
