Checking communications with the luminaires.
To run a test of communication with luminaires in a determined zone, follow these steps:
Connect the programmer to the zone (with installed luminaires) o to the luminaire on which you want to run a
communication test (see "Connection of the programmer to several luminaires").
From the "MAIN MENU", with the scroll buttons, select "ZONE TEST".
Press "OK" to confirm the selected option.
The screen "TEST ZONE" appears:
The signalisation lamps of all the luminaires connected to the programmer will start blinking automatically.
This operation will only be carried out on luminaires connected to mains supply (230V).
Press on "ANUL" to finish this test and return to the screen "INITIAL MENU".
The signalisation of the connected luminaires will stop blinking and the luminaire will turn on.
Putting luminaires into this mode allows:
To test the communication with the luminaires installed in the zone checked.
To run this communication test, simply connect the communication entry of the luminaire to the zone you want
to check.
Once a determined zone is in communication test, simply carry out a visual check of the luminaires connected
in the zone, observing wether the signalisation LEDs are blinking or not in order to know if there is a correct
communication or not.
If the signalisation LEDs of a luminaire do not blink, when the zone in which the luminaire is connected is in
"test mode", there are several possible reasons and solutions:
1/ The luminaire is not connected to the zone or the connection has not been properly done. Check its
connections.
2/ The luminaire is connected to the zone, but the polarity is reversed. Check the polarity of the
connection.
3/ The distance between the programmer and the luminaire is greater than the maximum distance
permitted for correct communication between the control unit and the luminaires. Install a signal
repeater before the luminaires that are situated at a distance of more than 800 meters from the control
unit.
4/ The remote control/communication entry of the luminaire has been damaged due to an accidental
connection of this entry to mains supply. Replace the luminaire by a new one.
5/ The type of communication used is not correctly selected on the luminaire.
Check the selected type of communication of the luminaire is Rs485 (see "Instructions of the
luminaire").
