Factory setting means normal and advanced settings are as indicated:

Normal settings: SUR = 3, VOL = 3, CH = 1, VOX = 3, SQ = 3, SUB = --, PWR = HI.
Advanced settings (SET UP): SUR = 3, VOL = on, CH = 0, VOX = on, SQ (n.a.), SUB = 1,
PWR = on.
Antivox means that voice controlled transmission is blocked when someone is transmitting

on the same frequency and you can only transmit using the PTT function.
When "External PTT" is selected, an external keying switch (PTT) can be plugged into the

external jack. The PTT function is the same as when normal PTT is used.
Sound from a personal stereo is automatically attenuated to avoid interference with the

Lite-Com radio's transmission and reception. The sound can also be attenuated manually by
pressing PTT AUX. This also blocks voice controlled transmission from the Lite-Com radio,
which makes it easier to listen to ambient sounds and speak with others. The function is con-
firmed by two short tones. Pressing PTT AUX again releases attenuation and voice-controlled
transmission will work again. The new setting is confirmed by one long tone.
When you press and hold PTT AUX in com radio mode, the externally connected com radio

will transmit. During PTT AUX transmission you can listen in on the outgoing transmission and
voice controlled transmission from the Lite-Com radio is blocked.
Telephone mode

PTT AUX is used to answer and end telephone calls. The answer function is confirmed by
two short tones and voice controlled transmission from the Lite-Com radio is blocked during
telephone calls. It is possible, however, to transmit using PTT on the Lite-Com radio. Pressing

PTT AUX cancels the telephone mode and the setting is confirmed by a long tone.

ASSEMBLY / SETTINGS
Batteries
Unscrew and fold back the battery compartment cover. Use two 1.5 V size AA batteries
(included). Check that the + and – terminals of the batteries are facing the right way (see
figure inside cover).

Peltor also has a NiMH accumulator (ACK03) that can replace dry batteries.

WARNING! If rechargeable batteries are used, they must be inserted as instructed in the
charger manual. Dry batteries may explode if they are recharged.
Headband (Fig. J)
(J:1) Stretch the shells apart. Place the headset so that the ear cushions sit snugly over the
ears.
(J:2) Adjust the height of the shells for a snug and comfortable fit. Do this by pushing/pulling
the shell up or down while pressing down on the headband.
(J:3) The headband should sit straight on top of the head.
Helmet Attachment (Fig. K)
(K:1) Fit the helmet attachment into the helmet's slots so that it snaps into place.
NB! The shells can be set in two positions: Working position (K:2) or Airing position (K:3). When
in use, the shells must be placed in the working position by pressing the frame wires inward until
a click is heard on both sides. Be sure that the shell and the frame wires, when in the working
position, do not lie against the helmet's interior or edge, which could cause leakage.
Continuous use of a functioning hearing protector is the only sure way to protect
against hearing damage. If you spend time in environments where the noise level exceeds
85 dB(A), you have to protect your hearing to prevent permanent damage to the auditory
cells of the inner ear. If the protector is removed for even a short time, you are at risk of injury.
The best way to insure that you will use your hearing protector 100 % of the time and thereby
avoid hearing damage, is to have comfortable protection that is well suited to the noise level
of your environment.
For optimal protection, move any hair away from ears so that the ear cushions fit snugly against
the head. Eyeglass earpieces should be as thin as possible and sit close to the head.
WARNING! There is no noise level limiting for the external input. Sound volume for
external equipment should therefore be limited.
