Airflow Channel Cleaning

CAUTION
Risk of bodily injury or equipment damage.
Power off the drive for at least 5 minutes to allow internal voltage to discharge.
The airflow channel shall be serviced by a qualified serviceman.
Never attempt to clean the airflow channel using a directed water spray (hose).
Never reach into the airflow channel.
Cleaning Procedure
1.
Power down the drive and wait 5 minutes.
2. Use an air compressor, air blower, or long-handled brush to
remove debris from the airflow channel (1).
3. Power up the drive to test that the fans operate as intended.
NOTE: If the airflow channel (1) continues to contain debris:
4. Remove the screws from the cover, and remove it from the
drive. Set aside.
5. Refer to
"External Fans Replacement" on page 51
the External Fans module and gain access the airflow channel.
6. Remove debris from the airflow channel.
7. Once the airflow channel is clean, replace the External Fans
module to the airflow channel.
8. Power up the drive to visually verify that the fans are spin-
ning. Power down the drive after verifying that the fans spin.
9. Replace the cover and secure to the drive using all the screws
removed in step 1.

Fan Replacement

WARNING
Contact with hazardous voltage could result in death or serious
injury.
Do not attempt to replace fans until power has been removed and 5 minutes have passed
to allow internal voltage to discharge.
In the event that the cooling fans fail and results in a frequent occurrence of Fault 7: Overheated Drive
faults, the fans are replaceable. Refer to
ternal Fan Replacement kits.
There are two types of fans in the drive, Internal (Stirring) fans and External (Heat Sink) fans.
Internal Fan Replacement
Stirring fans circulate air inside the drive. They connect to the Control Board at connectors (1). Fans are
secured by screws, one in each corner of the fan. There is a Power Board Stirring fan, and a dV/dt Filter
Stirring Fan.
