Ignition test
If the APC-applicators are stored for a longer period of time, it is
possible that the first ignition of the plasma is more or less de-
layed. For this reason, carry out an ignition test before applica-
tion of the Argon Plasma Coagulation. To do this, use a relatively
large, metallic object. It must be sterile and have no electrically
conductive contact to the patient, to other persons or to elec-
tronic units.
If the plasma does not ignite, proceed as follows:
1. Check the argon flow. Is it sufficient? Gas flow rate at least
1.5 l / min.
2. Check the connection to the HF generator. Is this OK?
3. If the argon flow and connection are OK, move the APC ap-
plicator as close as possible to the metallic object. Activate
the unit several times if necessary, until the plasma ignites.
Once the plasma has ignited, it normally ignites without delay for
subsequent activations.

How to use
6.1
Only use cleaned, disinfected and sterilized
products
Clean, disinfect and sterilize the product before using it for the
first time and before every subsequent use.
6.2
Checking the product
Before each use, check the insulation, especially the ceramic in-
sulation at the distal end of the APC-applicator, for damage.
If damaged, do not use this product!
