2.4 Personnel - qualifications and duties
• The product is intended solely for use by professional users.
• The product may only be operated, serviced and repaired by
authorised and trained personnel. The personnel must be specif-
ically informed about potential hazards.
2.5 General safety instructions
f Do not exceed the maximum system loading.
f Shelving systems must be secured to the wall.
f Additionally fasten shelving systems with drawer components to
the floor.
f Assembly and/or conversion may only be undertaken in the unloaded
state in accordance with the assembly and operating instructions.
f Loading of the shelving system components may only take
place once assembly is complete.
f The specified maximum compartment and bay loads must not
be exceeded.
f The loading of shelves, ground-level shelves and drawers must
be uniform because the static design is based on an assump-
tion of uniformly distributed surface load.
3.1 Intended use
The product complies with the state of the art and the applicable
safety regulations at the time of its being brought into service, within
the scope of its intended use.
Based on the design, it is not possible to prevent either foreseeable
misuse or residual hazards without the intended functionality being
limited.
The ORSY
shelving system is an extremely robust and versatile
®
modular storage shelving system. It is also a comprehensive storage
and stock withdrawal system that is planned, filled and regularly
checked in respect of replenishment requirements by your personal
Würth contact. The ORSY
shelving system may only be used for its
®
intended purpose.
The user is liable for any damage in the event of
improper use.
3.2 Reasonably foreseeable misuse
If the product is misused in a reasonably foreseeable manner, the
warranty given by the manufacturer is null and void and the operator
is solely responsible.
Reasonably foreseeable misuse includes for example:
• Failure to carry out checks to ensure prompt detection of damage
• Failure to replace wear parts
• Incorrectly performed maintenance and repair work
• Improper use
• Operation with defective mechanical devices
• Improper assembly and first use

2 Safety
f Single point impact loads and sliding loads must be avoided in
all circumstances.
f Shelf compartments, especially ground-level compartments,
must not be stood on by personnel.
f Damaged and deformed load-bearing components and
modules of a shelving system must be replaced immediately
because the load-bearing capacity is only guaranteed if the
system is free from defects.
f When storing hazardous substances, the relevant legal regula-
tions must be observed. This applies in particular to all ORSY
system shelf modules in which chemical products are stored. If
necessary, the shelf must be placed in a certified drip pan.
f Only Würth products may be stored.
f Uncontrolled moving parts - falling stored goods (caution is re-
quired, especially with the pivoting compartment for 20l Refillo
canisters because the canister could "slip" out of the swivel
compartment when being swapped over).
3 General
3.3 System requirements
Installation location & building (ground specifications/
foundation specifications)
• The load acting on the floor must be specified (loads are calculat-
ed externally).
• Solid concrete floor without screed with a minimum C20/25
strength class.
• If corrosive soil/ground is present, appropriate protective mea-
sures, e.g. insulation, must be provided.
• It must be ensured that no force is transmitted to other structures by
the ORSY®shelving system.
• The shelves must be arranged in a clear space.
Clearances
• Traffic routes to shelving facilities must be at least 1.25 m wide,
secondary passages at least 0.75 m wide. The safety clearance
relative to any conveying equipment must be at least 0.5 m on
each side.
• Escape routes must not be obstructed by the storage facility.
Environmental influences
f Assembly must be within a closed building, not in an outdoor
area outside a building.
f The storage facility must not be exposed to relative humidity of
greater than 65 % measured at 20 ° for more than a few weeks
per year.
f The surroundings including the floor plate must be dry and not
chemically aggressive.
f No additional construction measures are necessary for cold stores.
f The storage area must be equipped with appropriate heating
and lighting.
