POSSIBLE CAUSE
Need to squeeze trigger
1. Batteries are not charged.
2. Battery knobs are loose.
1. Check fuel level in the fuel tank.
2. If this is the first start of the day.
3. If refueling a hot engine that ran out of fuel.
4. Weak battery.
5. Ambient temperature below 35

6. No spark.
Battery pack needs replacing.
Carburetor requires adjustment.

SOLUTION
Squeeze and hold the trigger before engaging the starter button.
1. Charge the batteries.
2. Tighten knobs securely.
1. Add fuel if necessary.
2. May take 15-20 seconds.
3. Wait 15-20 minutes before attempting to re-start unit.
4. Recharge battery or insert a fully charged spare battery pack.

5. Move the trimmer to a location with temperature within the
range and let it warm up or cool down for a while. Retry.
6. Check Spark. Remove spark plug. Reattach the spark plug
wire and lay spark plug on metal cylinder. Squeeze trigger,
push starter button and watch for spark at spark plug tip. If
there is not spark, repeat test with a new spark plug.
Replace the battery pack and recycle the spent one.
Turn "L" needle (A) counterclockwise 1/16 turn
(See Fig. 1).
Turn "H" needle (B) counterclockwise 1/16 turn
(See Fig. 1).
1. Use fresh fuel and the correct 2-cycle oil mix.
2. Clean per instructions in Customer Responsibilities.
3. Turn "H" needle clockwise 1/16 turn (See Fig. 1).
Turn idle speed screw (C) clockwise to increase idle speed (See Fig.
1).
1. Lubricate (spray on silicone)
2. Install more string (see String Replacement).
3. Pull strings while alternately pressing down on and releasing
spool retainer.
4. Remove string from spool and rewind (see String Replacement).
5. Advance string at full throttle.
1. Cut tall grass from the top down.
2. Operate trimmer at full throttle.
Clean threads and lubricate with grease - if no improvement,
replace spool retainer.
1. Operate trimmer at full throttle.
2. Use fresh fuel and the correct 2-cycle oil mix.
3. Clean per instruction in Maintenance Section.
4. Turn "H" needle clockwise 1/16 turn.
